Concert Review: The Maine @ Webster Hall NYC

The Arizona rock group, The Maine has been touring across the United States for their album Lovely, Little, Lonely which came out in April 7.

The “Lovely, Little, Lonely World Tour” is accompanied by Beach Weathers and Mowglis as The Maine’s opening bands. Tickets and tour information can be found here.

I got the chance to see The Maine perform live in New York City at Webster Hall. I’ve been to Webster Hall for a few shows like PVRIS and State Champs, so I knew the setup of the venue and how much maximum capacity was. The train was running late, but I got into the city to see The Maine in time!

I just want to discuss the setlist. I had a great time dancing and singing along to old and new hits. I wish there were a few new songs they played like “Taxi” or “I Only Wanna Talk To You” and some older hits like “Into Your Arms,” “You Left Me,” or “We’ll All Be,” but overall I enjoyed the set. I loved seeing “(Un)Lost,” “Lost In Nostalgia,” and “We All Roll Along.” Here is their setlist:

  1. Lovely
  2. Black Butterflies and Déjà Vu
  3. Am I Pretty?
  4. Like We Did (Windows Down)
  5. (Un)Lost
  6. My Heroine
  7. We All Roll Along
  8. The Way We Talk
  9. English Girls
  10. Take What You Can Carry
  11. Lost In Nostalgia
  12. Right Girl
  13. Raining In Paris
  14. Girls Do What They Want
  15. Diet Soda Society
  16. Do You Remember? (The Other Half Of 23)
  17. Bad Behavior
  18. Another Night On Mars

I’ve seen The Maine perform with Mayday Parade in 2012, twice at Warped Tour, and twice after the release of American Candy. This was the fifth time seeing The Maine, and everytime I see them I get such amazing vibes from the group.

The Maine have a great stage presence. John O’ Callaghan has a way of getting everyone engaged in the songs whether they know them or not. The crowd was electric and sang every word of the song. I love the fact that The Maine lets people live in the moment and is so humble for every experience they have. Being apart of The Maine’s show was wonderful and unforgettable. I hope that The Maine tours for their album Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop next year.

In other news, Broadside released their first single “Puzzle Pieces” off of their upcoming record Paradise which will be released on June 16. You can pre-order the album here and see them tour with Real Friends now! Fall Out Boy released a new song “Young And Menace” and will be releasing a new album and touring. The album, Mania will release on Sept. 15 and the tour begins in the fall. Moose Blood announced a US Tour. Tickets and tour information can be found here. Grayscale released “If I Ever See You Again,” Blink 182 released a song “6/8” this week, and Of Mice & Men released a single “Unbreakable.”

What a rad week in music! Rock on, stay humble, and be positive!
